exhibits, trail dedications, gear demonstrations, instructional workshops,
and trail work projects. Be sure to stop by one of the many GATC outdoor
classrooms and try our hands-on demonstrations.

Programs and Presentations
GATC volunteers host information booths at various outdoor events in
Atlanta and north Georgia and conduct seminars and presentations
to groups upon request. GATC also participates in the Len Foote Hike Inn
Speakers Program, and speaks on a variety of topics relating to hiking, the
AT, outdoor recreation and conservation. For more information contact the
Presentation Committee.Sawyer Certification
All
volunteers using a chain saw or crosscut saw on the Chattahoochee-Oconee
National Forest must successfully complete a sawyer certification workshop.
The certification workshop, conducted by the U.S. Forest Service, prepares volunteers to safely operate a chainsaw or crosscut saw in order to remove blow downs and cut materials needed for trail-work projects. For more information contact the Trail Supervisor.
