Whole Foods Supports GATC Programs

Each quarter, individual Whole Foods stores select a non-profit organization from their area as the recipient of proceeds from their “5% Day” as part of their commitment to the local community.  On April 2, GATC was the featured organization at the Whole Foods store on Ponce de Leon Avenue in metro Atlanta.  Our application to participate focused on the three major components of the GATC outreach program:  National Trails Day events, presentations and hikes for schools north Georgia trail towns, and urban youth programs.  This event provided an opportunity to showcase all GATC programs by having volunteers present throughout the day at a table that included our recently-revised three-panel exhibit, a photo album of GATC outreach events, new GATC brochures, and an announcement of the Stone Mountain NTD event.  Whole Foods donated $3,869, representing 5% of their proceeds from that day, to GATC!  We heartily thank Whole Foods for their support.
