Policy for linking websites on the GATC web page

Purpose: The GATC web page serves as a point of information and reference for those interested in The Georgia Appalachian Trail and the Georgia Appalachian Trail Club. The web page links GATC members with up-to-date information about the trail and serves as a generic resource for contacts to the club and the AT conference. In keeping with the mission of the GATC, the web page helps to educate the general public about hiking the AT southern terminus and references frequently asked questions for those interested in hiking in Georgia as well as thru hiking.

Inclusion: To enhance those purposes, the web page hypertext "links" to (a) Trail-maintaining organizations and supporting organizations, (b) federal and state agency partners at all available levels and (c) Web sites that are focused on the Georgia Appalachian Trail in particular or hiking in general. Prior to linking to web sites, a GATC Board Member or the GATC Web Chairperson will review potential sites for appropriateness for inclusion with a focus on the quality of content.
