National Trails Day
Leaders: Herb Daniel & Lawson Herron
National Trails Day (NTD) was launched in 1993 by the American Hiking Society (AHS). Visit http://www.americanhiking.org/National-Trails-Day/Info/  to learn more.

Our event this year will be held at Vogel State Park. The activities will begin at 9AM in the GATC display area. After a short introduction, a work crew will proceed to a section of trail within the park for a trail maintenance service project. Around noon, everyone will gather at a picnic pavilion for lunch. You are asked to bring your own lunch but the GATC Membership Committee and others will furnish drinks, snacks and desserts. Following lunch, there will be a prospective member orientation. Immediately following, there will be a hike on one of the park trails. You may participate in any or all events and all will be open to the public. The GATC display, along with those from other organizations, will be in place all day. To register, contact Herb at 770-451-4181, hdan@juno.com or Lawson at 770-993-5231, lawson14@bellsouth.net.
